Hey, I’m Amy.

I write Christian long fiction, uplifting personal essays, and Christ-centered short fiction. All for the Glory of God.

My book, A Place Called Salvation, is about a girl who dreams about the worst moments in the lives of those people closest to her. The only thing is she wasn’t there for those moments, and in some cases, she isn’t supposed to know about them. This curse is ruining her life… but, maybe the curse is just a gift she has been given to help those who need it most!

A Place Called Salvation

A Place Called Salvation tells the story of an unwanted spiritual gift that leads to wrestling with God and feeling cursed, all while trying to get through the challenges of young adulthood.

Sixteen-year-old Stormy Parrish is a long-time resident at New Sanctuary Children’s Home, a Christian home in small-town Louisiana for kids who have no place else to go. Having moved there after her parents died in a mountain-side crash on a winter vacation and her grandmother developed Alzheimer’s and was placed in a nursing home, Stormy is the weirdo who has regular nightmares that can wake up the girls’ floor in Salvation House.

Her life consists of school, weekly visits with her social worker, church two times a week, quietly and too-frequently welcoming new roommates, following the house rules, and dreaming about the worst moments in the lives of those around her. When the new boy, Dex Love, moves into Redemption House down the street, she begins to rebel, fight with God about her purpose, and really think about the future.
